Fort Foster Rendezvous at Fort Foster State Historic Site

Time: 10:00 am til 3:00 pm

Location: Fort Foster State Historic Site 15402 U.S. 301 N. Thonotosassa, FL 33592

Description: The Department of Environmental Protection’s, Fort Foster State Historic Site, is hosting its annual Fort Foster Rendezvous. This event is a living history reenactment featuring military, Seminole, and civilian reenactors, sutlers, traders, and craft demonstrations. Registration forms are available online. An opportunity to purchase period merchandise & refreshments is available to our park visitors.

Please note: This weekend event will offer ongoing daily live firing demonstrations and a skirmish between the Seminoles and military after 1:00 pm both days.

Archaeology Works: Pottery

Time: 11:00 am til 12:00 pm

Location: Weedon Island Center, 1800 Weedon Dr NE, St Petersburg

Description: Pottery was a vital part of life in Florida for the past 3,000 years, but it is also an important clue for archaeologists today. Learn to identify different prehistoric pottery types from around Florida and the ways archaeologists use them to learn about people in the past. There will also be a pottery making activity for attendees to enjoy. This program is designed for people of all ages.
