Description: First visited by archaeologists in 1880, the Safety Harbor site was once home to the capital city of the Tocobaga people. Although many of the features of this ancient village were destroyed over the years, clues to the lives of the Tocobaga still remain beneath the surface. Learn about some of the amazing finds at this site, as well as what they reveal about the history of the area, as we celebrate some of the earliest residents of Safety Harbor.
