Florida Conversations Ybor City and WWII

Time: 6:30 pm til 9:00 pm

Location: Tampa Bay History Center, 801 Old Water St, Tampa, FL 33602

Description: WWII was perhaps Ybor City’s last great hurrah, says Gary Mormino, historian, author and past director of the Florida Studies Program at USF. His talk will profile the impact of the war’s social and economic changes – young men leaving for war in great numbers, Latin women entering new career fields, Ybor City war heroes and returning servicemen and the GI bill.
