Teacher Appreciation Day at the Henry B. Plant Museum

Time: 10:00 am til 5:00 pm

Location: Henry B. Plant Museum, 401 W. Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33606

Description: We invite Tampa Bay teachers on Saturday, August 11th, from 10am – 5 pm, to visit the Henry B. Plant Museum as we salute them . Admission is FREE for teachers and their families with their school ID. Teachers can explore the Museum at their leisure, learn about exciting Field Trip opportunities in 2012-2013, and enjoy our in-depth, self-guided audio tour. They may also view the award-winning, 14-minute historical video on “Florida’s First Magic Kingdom” and investigate our new exhibit Japan and the Victorians. Discovering Culture and Nature with your Child

Time: 1:00 pm til 3:00 pm

Location: Weedon Island Preserve, 1800 Weedon Drive NE St. Petersburg, Florida 33702

Description: Stop by the Weedon Island open classroom anytime between 1 to 3 p.m. to participate in a variety of self-guided archaeological activities. This week "sifting through the past" teaches how early people made their living from our Bay and waterways. No registration required. Recommended for families with children of all ages. Weedon Island Preserve.
