Harvey Oyer at the Bonnet house

Time: 6:00 pm til 7:30 pm

Location: Bonnet House Museum & Gardens 900 North Birch Road, Fort Lauderdale

Description: Harvey is the author of two wonderful books I use for the education programs here at Bonnet House. He is a dynamic speaker. His books are about young Charlie Pierce, one of South Florida’s earliest pioneer settlers. The stories follow Charlie’s adventures as a child leaving Chicago after the Chicago Fire. His adventures as a young boy growing up in the wild, untamed jungles of Florida became legendary. Perhaps no other person experienced firsthand as many important events and met as many influential characters in South Florida’s history. Charlie became one of the Barefoot Mailmen and kept a journal of his life. Please join us for this very special guest speaker.
