DuPuis' Prehistory mystery

Time: 8:00 am til 5:00 pm

Location: Dupuis' visitor center

Description: a Paleo-rific time at DuPuis’ Visitors’ Center on Saturday February 2, 2013! Sessions are 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Chris Davenport, County Historic Preservation Officer, will speak about 4 of DuPuis’ major prehistoric earthworks. The lecture will examine the sites that spanned 4000 years. He will discuss when they were occupied, why they were built and what happened to the native people. Following the lecture, participants will explore DuPuis sites via swamp buggy. This workshop costs $50 per person so register for a morning or afternoon session. The proceeds support the Florida Center for Environmental Studies Environmental Education Program at DuPuis Management Area. We will provide beverages and snacks, but please bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy under the shade of our live oaks.
