Shell Pit Road MoundsThe East Central Region assisted the Division of Historical Resourc-es in responding to several human burial sites protected under Chap-ter 872. In one case, a concerned citizen alerted the state to the de-velopment of land adjacent to the Grant Mound Complex (8BR56) site and the presence of metal-detectorists. East Central staff responded by visiting the site and documenting what was observed on the ground. Heritage Awareness Diving Seminar (HADS)FPAN staff from the Coordinat-ing Center, Northwest Region, andSoutheast Region traveled to Key Largo in April 2019 to conduct the annual HADS program in partner-ship with DHR and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. This year, HADS participants also included Virginia State Under-water Archaeologist Dr. John Broadwater and the Australian Governments Assistant Director of Maritime and Commonwealth Heritage, Andrew Viduka, both of whom intend to take HADS to their areas.21'
