The Public Archaeology Lab not only helps members of the public better understand the archaeological process and the material culture of Pensacola, it also provides a unique opportunity for public ser-vice. During 2018/19, the lab saw 139 different volunteers who pro-vided over 1,450 hours of service.Monitoring Mondays!In an effort to provide social op-portunities for HMS Florida scouts to get together and monitor sites, the Northeast Region set up a series of once a month meet-ups starting in October 2018 with visits to eight cemeteries. Other Moni-toring Mondays offered opportuni-ties to monitor at Fort Matanzas National Monument, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, Fayver Dikes State Park, Anastasia State Park, and Oglethorpe Park in St. Johns and Flagler Counties.13'
