Lecture: Scuba Diving History in Florida at the Maritime Museum

To appreciate modern day SCUBA diving, we need understand its fascinating history. In this lecture we will dive into the history of scuba diving from breath-hold free diving, to hard hat diving, to modern day SCUBA. There will also be a special focus on Florida’s contributions to diving history – such as helmet making, sponge diving, underwater research and archaeology.
