Description: Complementing the Sulphur Springs Museum's new "Florida before Statehood exhibit," join Dr. Michael Francis, as he explores the early history of European settlement efforts in Florida. Learn about the remarkably rich, yet neglected history of colonization in the US southeast in the 16th
Century, a process that began almost a century before Jamestown.

Dr. Michael Francis is a Professor of History at the University of South Florida's St. Petersburg campus.

There will be refreshments and free admission.
