Emerson Point Preserve World Ocean Day Festival

Description: Join us for a **FREE** morning celebrating our seas! Worlds Ocean Day Festival is a fun, family friendly event celebrating our salty waters. A variety of ocean themed activities will be available for participants to learn about World Oceans Day. Dip nets into the water and discover the creatures beneath the waves. Learn amazing facts about our large wildlife—like sea turtles. Build oyster mats and explore the history of fishing in Manatee County. Even get a chance to touch a boat and adults can test a kayak.

Walk Tampa: The Ybor City Story

Time: 10:00 am til 11:30 pm

Location: Cuban Club, 2010 N Avenida Republica De Cuba, Ybor City, FL 33605

Description: Join the Tampa Bay History Center for a guided tour of historic Ybor City. This 90-minute walking tour is led by a History Center-trained docent and focuses on the founding and development of Ybor City in the late 19th century early 20th century. You'll tour Tampa's only National Historic Landmark District and learn about the people, social life and work culture of early Ybor. You'll visit mutual aid societies, the Ybor Cigar Factory and other key landmarks, and hear the stories behind one Florida's oldest and most unique communities.

Tours meet in front of the Cuban Club, 2010 N Avenida Republica De Cuba, Ybor City, FL 33605.

Participants will walk a total of approximately one mile along public sidewalks and brick streets. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes and attire for walking outside. Guests might also want to bring bottled water on the tour.
