Fort Foster Rendezvous at Fort Foster State Historic Site

Time: 10:00 am til 3:00 pm

Location: Fort Foster State Historic Site 15402 U.S. 301 N. Thonotosassa, FL 33592

Description: The Department of Environmental Protection’s Fort Foster State Historic Site, hosts its 22nd Annual Fort Foster Rendezvous.

This event is a living history reenactment featuring military, Seminole, and civilian reenactors, sutlers, traders, and craft demonstrations. On “School Days”, Wednesday, 02/07/18 thru Friday 02/9/18, Bay Area schools are invited to bring their students out to see this living history event. The fee is $2.00 per student (teachers/chaperones are free). The "School Days" Registration form is available online, at the park, or by calling (813) 987-6771.

On 02/10/18 and 02/11/18, there will be skirmishes, as the reenactor Seminoles attempt to burn the bridge over the Hillsborough River and the reenactor soldiers defend it. Refreshments will be available for visitors' enjoyment. The Fort Foster State Historic Site is located adjacent to Hillsborough River State Park on U.S. 301 North, 9 miles north of Fowler Avenue and 6 miles south of Zephyrhills.

Exploring Victorian Valentines

Location: The Commerce Club At Oxford Exchange Tampa, Florida 33606

Description: Elaborate, ornate, heartfelt. These words capture the beauty of Victorian Valentines. Discover this history of these gorgeous keepsakes and create your own treasures at the Henry B. Plant Museum's Victorian Valentine event. Participants are encouraged to bring items to personalize their Valentines - a special photograph, an old postcard, or a scrap of lace are all perfect additions!

Museum Members: $15
Not-yet-members: $25
Youth (6-18): $10
