Description: Last year Florida celebrated Viva 500, the anniversary of our discovery by Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon. But did you know humans had been living in Florida for over 12,000 years? Archaeologists work to uncover the mysteries of these ancient people by digging for clues about their lives. Come meet real archaeologists from the Florida Public Archaeology Network and investigate the stone, bone and shell tools of Florida's first people and even make your own shell beads with a bow drill for an adornment necklace. See if you have what it takes to survive life in prehistoric Florida!
