De Soto Landing

Description: Be here as Conquistador Hernando De Soto comes ashore and claims Florida. Stay all day as we provide talks and demonstrations about De Soto's expedition and its lasting impact on the Native American people of the Southeast.

The Great Caper: Photo Safari

Time: 10:00 am til 3:00 pm

Location: Tampa Bay History Center, 801 Old Water St, Tampa, FL 33602

Description: It’s a jungle out there… a concrete one! Grab your camera, binoculars and smart phone for a trek through Tampa’s urban treasures. The photo safari starts with a scavenger hunt through the History Center’s galleries. After that, you’ll hop on and off the TECO Streetcar line in search of history, mystery and storied landmarks throughout downtown Tampa. Finally, you’ll return to the History Center to create a scrapbook of your photos. Pre-registration required.

When: April 20, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Where: Start and end at TBHC
Who: Explorers of all ages
Cost: $15/adult, $10/child (members)
