Annual Fort Chokonikla Encampment
Time: 9:00 am til 5:00 pm
Location: Paynes Creek Historic State Park, 888 Lake Branch Road Bowling Green, Florida 33834
Description: This year’s event will feature re-enactment of the fatal attack by renegade Seminoles on the Kennedy-Darling trading post. Other demonstrations will include how United States soldiers, local pioneer settlers and Seminoles struggled to survive during the mid-1800s in central Florida. Re-enactors will demonstrated their skills with bow and arrows and tomahawks. There will also be exciting black powder demonstrations with period rifles, pistols, and cannons. The fully stocked Kennedy-Darling trading post will be open for walk through viewing. The event will also have vendors and plenty of food.
Fees: Cost to attend this years event: $2.00 per car plus park entry fee.

Gulf Maritime Festival in Tarpon Springs

Location: Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks Dodecanese Blvd, Tarpon Springs, Florida 34689
Description: Demonstrators will explore sponge diving and sponge processing; making diving helmets and nets; food-ways; fishing, clam farming, boat building, model boats and more.
Enjoy live music and dance including Greek music, blue grass, old-time, and western swing.
