Lab Time at the Ybor City Museum State Park

Time: 9:30 am til 11:30 am

Location: Ybor City Museum State Park, 1818 E Ninth Avenue Tampa, Florida 33605

Description: Fridays from 9:30 to 11:30 the public is invited to come out and participate in archaeological lab work in the Ybor City Museum Garden. Help archaeologists wash artifacts uncovered during their dig at the State Park and then learn how to sort historic artifacts based on their type or material. Get up close with pieces of Ybor City's past and learn a little more about what it was like to live here during the turn of the century. No experience is required, everyone from children to adults are welcome to attend and take part.

Home School History Day - Mystery Artifacts, Maps and More!

Time: 10:00 am til 2:00 pm

Location: Tampa Bay History Center, 801 Old Water Street, Tampa

Description: Take a peek at our collections and find out how we care for them. Learn how to analyze artifacts like a historian, read maps like a geographer, and handle documents like an archivist. Younger children will enjoy a gallery hunt and other fun, age-appropriate activities.
