Digging Deeper in the Dry Tortugas

Location: Florida Historical Society Headquarters, 435 Brevard Ave, Cocoa

Description: Dry Tortugas National Park is located 70 miles west of Key West, and it is home to Ft. Jefferson. Today, the Park is best known as a great place for birding or snorkeling, but at one time it was known for its military might. The talk will include a brief history of Dry Tortugas National Park and discuss the recent excavations of the parade grounds within the Fort’s massive walls.
