Fall Farm and Cane Festival at Dudley Farm Historic State Park

Time: 9:00 am til 3:00 pm

Location: Dudley Farm Historic State Park, 18730 W. Newberry Road Newberry, FL 32669

Description: Celebrate the regions pioneering past by watching some of the areas rural life style. The Park Service commemorates Ms. Myrtle Dudley’s birthday by grinding sugar cane and boiling it into cane syrup. Farm tours, domestic crafts, children’s activities, music and vendors are featured on this living history day. Demonstrators will be showcasing Florida’s traditions of yesteryear.

Event admission is $8.00 per car, up to 8 occupants. Honor box, cash only.

Living History Day at Morningside Nature Center

Time: 9:00 am til 4:30 pm

Location: Morningside Nature Center, 3540 E. University Avenue Gainesville, FL 32641

Description: Step back in time, enjoy nature, and experience Florida as it was!

C’mon home to the Living History Farm at Morningside Nature Center and experience a time when the rooster’s crow and the rising sun, not an alarm clock, welcomed a new day! During Living History Days, interpreters portray day-to-day life on an 1870 Florida farm. Step back in time, enjoy nature, and experience Florida as it was!

This event is FREE!
The farm is open to the public from 9 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Saturday all year long.

Floral City Folk Day

Time: 10:00 am til 4:00 pm

Location: Floral City Heritage Hall Museum, 8394 E Orange Ave Floral City, Florida 34436

Description: From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3, visitors can stroll through Florida Folk Life Day with early Florida daily living exhibits, demonstrations, and the Blue Banner Tour of Historic Homes. Floral City Folk Day showcases local heritage during the phosphate boom period from 1890-1910. This is a costumed event as the town recalls its past with the self-guided tour of historic homes, demonstrations of early Florida's daily living activities, exhibits in Heritage Museum, Florida acoustic music on two stages and down-home country foods under the old pavilion. Many other activities complete the day.The day of festivities and education will include the Friends of Library Heritage Book Sale, folk music and country food.
