Description: Historic cemeteries are important cultural resources, serving as both sacred spaces for mourners and as outdoor museums which detail community history. They can also be vulnerable to damage by development, vandalism, and a host of other issues. Join Mallory Fenn of the Florida Public Archaeology Network for Archaeological Society of Southern Florida’s October meeting and learn how archaeologists study these places, the issues they face day-to-day, and what YOU can do to help protect Miami's historic cemeteries. This lecture is FREE and open to the public!
