Description: Join us at the as we return to Deering Estate on Saturday, March 16th at 1:00pm to hear
about the recently completed reports from a 2014 excavation of a rare contact period Tequesta site threatened by climate
change and plans for its future management. The site has yielded a considerable amount of new information on early
interactions between European and Indigenous groups in South Florida and may yield connections to similar sites
throughout South Florida and may in fact clarify the story of some of the first efforts by Europeans to visit South Florida
