HIllsboro Lighthouse Tour
Time: 9:00 am til 3:30 pm
Location: 125 North Riverside Drive at the Sands Harbor Resort and Marina
Description: Tours of Hillsboro Inlet Light Station and the Lighthouse are run by the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society, an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The lighthouse is located alongside Hillsboro Inlet, and is only accessible by boat from the Sands Harbor Hotel and Marina. The tour is subject to Mother Nature and her weather and sea conditions.
Hillsboro Lighthouse is an active aid to navigation, and it is only via special dispensation from the Department of Homeland Security and the United States Coast Guard that the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society is able to have up to eight (8) tours per year of the Hillsboro Inlet Light Station and open the grounds to the public.
A current HLPS membership or a $25 per person transportation fee is required for the boat ride from the Sands Hotel and Marina in Pompano Beach.
