Searching for the Lost Tribes: The Ais and the Mayaca

Description: Native peoples lived along Florida¹s east coast for thousands of years before the explorers arrived from across the sea. Yet none of these cultures survived today. Join archaeologists on the search for the lost tribes of the Ais and Mayaca, contact-period tribes living near the Indian River. Learn how archaeology can help us uncovered information about these peoples who were lost to disease, displacement and changing cultures.
