Toho Water Authority Summer Camp

Time: 10:00 am til 12:00 pm

Location: Osceola History Museum

Description: FPAN has partnered with the Toho Water Authority to teach campers all about underwater archaeology! Kids will learn about important equipment that lets archaeologists work underwater, mapping and drawing techniques, and a shipwreck in the St. Johns River.

Pyrotechnology at West Melbourne Library

Time: 2:00 pm til 3:00 pm

Location: West Melbourne Public Library

Description: Native peoples have lived in Florida for 15,000 years. One of their most important technologies: fire! Learn how fire helped native peoples for thousands of years and how archaeologists can find traces of it. The lesson concludes with an experiment in cooking before ceramics.
