Saving the Modern Century: The Next 50 Years in Historic Preservation

Time: 7:00 pm til 8:00 pm

Location: Historic Sanford Welcome Center

Description: The 2014 Sanford Historic Preservation Lecture Series
Featuring: Christine Madrid French
Project Director, Preservation Capen Curator, Art and History Museums-Maitland

Preservation of America's significant buildings began with saving Mt. Vernon in the 1850s. Yet, more than one-hundred-years later, communities still struggle to save important historic places. Historian and building advocate Christine Madrid French will discuss new activities in the field and provide tools for today's preservation leaders to understand and conserve our 20th century legacy.
