We Were Here: The People of the Water Exhibit Opening

Time: 6:00 pm til 7:00 pm

Location: Robert Morgade Library

Description: The Robert Morgade Library celebrates the grand opening of the exhibit We Were Here: The People of the Water. The event, free and open to the public, featuring an exciting first look at the exhibit, an informational lecture on Belle Glade culture presented by Christian Davenport, Historic Preservation Officer/Archaeologist for Palm Beach County, and refreshments. The People of the Water, as they have been aptly named, lived for at least 2,500 years in Florida’s waters, including Martin County. We Were Here is a Viva Florida 500 traveling exhibition presented by the Lawrence E. Will Museum: A Museum of the Belle Glades, and is being exhibited in regions where The People of the Water lived. Their story will be on display at the Robert Morgade Library March 4 – 23.
