“The Search for the Pirate Slave Ship Guerrero”
The pirate slave ship Guerrero met its doom on December 19, 1827, after the British Navy schooner HMS Nimble intercepted it while patrolling waters near the Bahamas for illegal slavers. The Guerrero sank off the coast of south Florida, carrying a cargo of 561 African people for sale to the plantations of Cuba. Come learn about the fascinating work being carried out by Mr. Denson’s organization on this important piece of history.
