Shipwrecks, Oysters, and Archaeology
The interaction between sea and land is a primary factor in how humans have occupied Florida’s unique landmass. The growing body of archaeological research in prehistoric peoples’ marine relations and historic maritime sites like wharves and shipwrecks are contributing greatly to our understanding of these interactions. Mr. Moore will discuss the insight gained by studying past Floridians’ fascinating relationship with the sea.
