“Birth, Life & Death: Infancy and Childhood in Roman Egypt”
Join Dr. Wheeler as she explores ancient birthing practices, infant and childhood mortality, and the fascinating mortuary practices of Egypt’s Roman period. She’ll highlight her recent fieldwork at Dakhleh Oasis, located in Egypt’s Western Desert, and how human remains and the contexts from which they came are illuminating life among its youngest and most vulnerable members.
